Creative Ministries Jan Taylor directs this active and varied ministry with support from Lakeridge UMC. The program offers opportunity for youth to learn self esteem and discipline as they participate in drama and dance programs and perform in area churches. Lessons for dance and drama are not within the ability of many families in this area. The Unspoken, a dance group performing dance and sign language to music has performed several times, bringing joy to parents and performers. A new keyboard piano lab and Karate lessons are planned. Jan also directs an exciting Vacation Bible School for a week in June or July. Volunteers high school age or older are needed Monday and Wednesdays from 3 pm until 5 pm. Opportunities include supervising and aiding group activities, assisting in set up/take down, providing guidance with manners/ behavior and serving as a role model/ mentor. Volunteers must love children. Those with dance, music, or drama skills are especially welcome. |
